DR RICHARD BROWN

BDS Bristol 2006
I moved to Bristol in 2001 after growing up in Northern Ireland. I studied dentistry at Bristol University from 2001-2006 and qualified from Bristol Dental School in 2006 with high grades in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine. I moved immediately into work in Bristol and after completing a year of vocational training, I continued to work in general practice and have done so, in two practices in the Bristol area, since August 2006.
My ethos in dentistry has always centered on the preservation of the patient’s natural teeth using the latest technologies to ensure minimally invasive preparation. I pride myself in providing high quality, beautifully natural looking restorations that last.
In 2010, I decided to take my interest in orthodontics further starting with aligner therapies in simple cases. Following a further 2 years post graduate study I now carry out a full range of orthodontic treatments for selected cases, dealing with most malocclusions which present in general practice. I now lecture internationally for general dentists looking to expand their scope of practice in ‘invisible’ orthodontics. My other areas of interest in dentistry include endodontics and restorative work especially aesthetic composite fillings and minimally invasive inlay/ onlay restorations.
Away from the dental surgery, I have a young family, my wife Anna and I have 3 young children; Zachary, William and Zara. Having lived in Redland and Clifton, we moved to Long Ashton in 2010 and are very settled in the village.
We enjoy the South West of England and regularly holiday in Cornwall, especially the North coast. I like to remain active when away from work, regularly playing hockey and I enjoy skiing and most sports involving the sea!
